Let's Talk Laughter: The Journey to "Football Crumpets”
What's your go-to comedy that never fails to crack you up? Ever had one of those nights where you want the comfort of rewatching an old favourite film or show?
Lately, though, I've had this bittersweet moment of realisation.
You know, diving back into classics like Ace Ventura, The League of Gentlemen or Mrs Doubtfire, only to find that some of the jokes haven't aged well. It hit me hard seeing trans people, like myself, used as the punchline.
It's a weird feeling, right? Finding out that what used to make you laugh now makes you cringe.
As a transgender artist and a huge fan of comedy, I've decided to take my love for laughter in a new direction.
Before I undergo a life-changing vocal feminisation surgery in October, I'm capturing my voice one last time in a really unique way. Welcome to "Football Crumpets," my feature-length immersive audio comedy. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this project, and I'm so excited to share it with you.

The Story Behind "Football Crumpets"
So, vocal surgery seems like a big step, right? It's all about bringing the external in line with my inner self. And while I'm all in for this next chapter, it does mean saying bye (temporarily) to my voice as it is now. That's a massive deal for someone who loves to express through my voice.
That's where "Football Crumpets" comes in. Imagine blending nostalgia, humour, and the idiosyncrasies of growing up into one. Set against the backdrop of a 1999 seaside caravan park Funcliffe Park, it's a throwback to simpler times.

This project has been made possible by the Football Crumpets Official Parter, Yeson Voice Center, who will be helping me find my true voice, with their pioneering VFSRAC vocal feminisation surgery.
